On February 14th, fashion designer Idan Cohen got married to his partner just before their fashion show at New York Fashion Week. The couple lives and works in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The atmosphere was festive as the show started with the announcement of the wedding. What an accomplishment to prepare a show, perform a ceremony, perform a show, and all in such a short time!
The inspiration for this Fall 2015 collection was the woman's body and her power. The first model appeared on the runway like a blue mermaid and then a black mermaid. Delicate pearls embroidered as an embellishment to a nude back or a décolleté, transparency, slits to reveal long legs and even a glittering swimsuit as a mini dress to show the whole body. All these clothes show a veneration of the woman body.
The dresses were in all nuances of pastels, black and white. Idan appears to be talented and creative in the way he invents new cut outs in the low V-necks, on the shoulders or on the back. As a final touch, the designer adds also a lot of sequins. However if they go well with the feast like confetti at a celebration I personally found it was excessive.
In the end, the designer appeared with his flower girl, both with great smiles and there was so much happiness in the Pavillon of the Lincoln Center!
