Hawaii made its way to South Beach via California at the
Mikoh Swimwear show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim. The West-Coast based label was founded by siblings
Oleema and Kalani Miller. The show had a
fantastic opening dance number performed by the Aloha Islanders. The Polynesian theme carried through in the
leafy crowns worn by some of the models and palm tree prints.
The swimwear looks themselves were fashionable, wearable
styles meant for active use. Even their
website’s opening video is of a woman swimming underwater. There was even a blue water splash
print. The suits have simple, basic
silhouettes but often featured cut-outs for extra sex appeal. The sisters grew up next to the ocean among a
family of surfers and designers. This
collection was meant for women who play hard and work hard, and the women behind
it live that lifestyle themselves.
Are you ready to battle the waves?

The 2015 Mara Hoffman collection blew us away. Those high waisted cut out bikini bottoms were UNREAL: http://bit.ly/marahoffmanswimwear
