Charlotte Ronson's fashion show at Mercedes-Benz fashion week was a collection of nostalgia. The show was a pretty mix of collegiate clothes with a high fashion update.
Varsity jackets were remade with vinyl and lurex rib knit. Boucle was used in pencil skirts and jackets. Sporty bralettes and athletic styled shorts were made in fishnet or silk print. Bohemian floral prints reminded me of cool summer nights in Washington Square Park, but now with leather details and embroidered organza
The shoes reminded me of my comfy college strappy sandals, but with updated platform heels and patent leather
Handbags were definitely an upgrade from my old backpack. Huge weekender sized fishnet bags, bucket bags and totes could carry your laptop, iPad, textbooks and half of your roomate... Some models were struggle with the bulk of the bags they were carrying. Smaller cross body bags had squared off shapes that were in between in size of a clutch and large carryall.
Yes, it's back to school season, and half of the people I saw at NY Fashion Week were probably playing hooky. At least after this week, I don't have to go back to class...
